In Accra, studies show that nearly 60% of adults delay dental visits until pain becomes unbearable. Preventive care is often overlooked, yet it is the cheapest and most effective way to protect overall health. Beaver Foundation exists to close that gap—bringing affordable, accessible dental education and treatment right to the community.
On Sunday, 1st December 2024, Beaver Foundation partnered with Liberty Centre Assemblies of God, Lapaz for a one-day dental health outreach. The church opened its doors, and over 65 participants—from children to elders—took part.
Patients received screenings, consultations, and on-the-spot scaling and polishing. Others sat attentively through short talks on nutrition, oral hygiene, and how to prevent gum disease. The triage desk buzzed with activity as families queued for toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, and mouthwash—tools many admitted they had never owned in full sets before.
One surprise? Many attendees thought teeth cleaning would “weaken” their teeth. Our clinicians patiently explained—and showed—that it does the opposite, preventing gum disease and protecting natural teeth.
