On 5 March 2025 at 8:42 a.m. in Lapaz, a Primary 2 pupil gripped her mum’s hand and whispered, “Will it hurt?” By noon, she’d learned to brush like a pro, got a gentle scale and polish, and left smiling with a new toothbrush—and a plan.
Tooth decay is one of the most common chronic conditions in school-age children, and small gaps in daily hygiene quickly become big problems. Beaver Foundation exists to catch issues early through education, screening, and timely referral—so kids learn habits that last and families avoid preventable pain and cost.
Life Seed Montessori (No. 15, 2nd Abete Link, Lapaz) turned into a busy mini-clinic for a day. Our team set up screening stations, an education corner, and a triage desk at the community classroom. Parents rotated through short talks on brushing technique and sugar habits while learners practiced on models and asked surprisingly sharp questions (“How long is two minutes, really?”).
A single scaling unit became the bottleneck mid-morning, so we reworked flow: education first, screening second, cleaning last. Teachers jumped in to steady the queue and keep the little ones entertained. By early afternoon, momentum was smooth—referrals logged, cleanings done, and parents briefed on next steps.
Behind the scenes, the school’s headmistress helped us find a workable space for equipment—a small but critical win that kept care moving.

We’ve logged referrals and begun scheduling follow-ups at SMSH for children needing additional care. Life Seed Montessori has invited us back for a parent-focused evening session, and we’re planning a return visit to Lapaz-area schools to reinforce brushing routines and fluoride use.
